The first Masters tournament of 2025 has come to an end. Eight teams competed for the championship trophy and a massive $500,000 prize pool. In the grand final, the two strongest teams— G2 Esports and T1 —faced off to determine who would claim the biggest share of the winnings.

This was the first meeting between T1 and G2 Esports in 2025, and it happened on the biggest stage possible—the grand final of one of the four major tournaments of the year. As expected from a grand final, the match was played in a best-of-five (Bo5) format. While many considered G2 Esports the favorites, it quickly became clear that both teams were equally deserving of their spot in the final, leading to an incredibly even contest. The teams traded map wins on their respective picks, bringing the series to a 2-2 tie. T1 was on the brink of defeat, but on Split, they mounted a comeback from 4-8, securing the win in overtime.

The decisive battle unfolded on Pearl—a map where G2 Esports had played five times this year without a single loss. The final map lived up to its high-stakes reputation—until the very last round, the winner remained uncertain. Both teams fought fiercely, but T1 managed to edge out a victory in the third overtime, closing the series 3-2.

With this historic win, T1 secured the Masters Bangkok 2025 championship title, the grand prize of $250,000, and 5 crucial VCT Points.

Masters Bangkok 2025 took place from February 20 to March 2 in a LAN format at UOB Live. Eight partnered teams, two from each region, competed for a $500,000 prize pool, VCT Points essential for Champions 2025 qualification, and the prestigious title of the first Masters champion of 2025.
