Rumors about team replacements in Valorant international leagues: Official denials and new speculations

These rumors first emerged during the "SpikeTalk" podcast featuring Talon Esports coach FrosT and former  FaZe Clan  player, now caster, babybay .

Possible Team Replacements and Exclusions

FrosT reported having information from reliable sources about the potential replacement of a team in the Americas region. However, he clarified that this does not involve  Evil Geniuses , which is also rumored to be considering leaving esports.

Discussion of MIBR Replacement

Following the release of this video, speculations began circulating within the community that  MIBR  might be subject to replacement. These speculations were fueled by the team's less-than-successful results over the past two years and recent reports that funds intended for Riot’s support were redirected to their Counter-Strike division, which the team has strongly denied.

New Speculations and Community Reactions

Yesterday, Tanmay, a well-known insider specializing in Valorant information for the Asia region, shared on X that Riot Games plans to review the status of VCT slots not only for GE/ MIBR but also for several other teams after the next season concludes. This sparked a new wave of speculation within the community.

Official Denials from Riot Games

In response to these reports, Leo Faria, Global Head of Valorant Esports at Riot Games, denied the rumors, stating that the information regarding the review of teams’ partner status in VCT is currently inaccurate. Faria clarified that Riot conducts performance reviews of all teams at the end of each season and plans to carry out a comprehensive review of all teams before the start of the new partnership cycle in 2027.

Faria also mentioned that the initial plan was to consider team replacements in the international league roughly every four years, aligning with the 2027 timeline. The evaluation will include not only performance but also financial stability and community contribution.

Meanwhile, Tanmay has maintained his stance on the review after the next season and has stated that he will delete his X account if the information turns out to be incorrect. A resolution to these disputes is expected in a year.
