Riot Games reduces incentives for teams in VCT 2025 and updates team skins

Currently, the 44 teams participating in the International League receive rewards for content creation, hosting viewing parties, and other activities through the incentive program. Teams could earn up to $400,000 for achieving specific goals. If all 48 teams next year reach their targets, the total reward amount could be $19.2 million. However, according to the source, the incentive program is likely to be canceled for VCT 2025, and this decision was communicated to teams in the final weeks of the regular season. Teams that had already budgeted for the next year may need to revise their plans.

Despite the cancellation of the incentive program, Riot Games will continue to provide rewards to teams for participating in the league. In VCT EMEA 2024, each team receives a minimum of $300,000 per year, with plans to increase this amount to a fixed $400,000. This year, revenue from the sale of team skins and CHAMPIONS 2024 will also be distributed, which is expected to generate additional income.

It is also reported that in VCT 2025, team skins will be an updated version of the current classic skins. Players who did not purchase the VCT 2024 skins will have the opportunity to buy them next year. Additionally, new maps will be introduced for players.
