Alter Ego overturn opening loss to eliminate ONIC from MPL Indonesia playoffs

Alter Ego defeated ONIC 3–1 in the opening round of the MPL Indonesia Season 18 playoffs, recovering from an opening-game loss to win three consecutive games.

The result ended ONIC’s campaign at Jatim Expo in Surabaya and sent Alter Ego into a second-round meeting with NAVI.

ONIC strike first before Alter Ego respond

ONIC took the opening game after recovering from an earlier deficit. Kiboy ’s Atlas initiations and Lutpi’s Alice helped create the turnaround, while Kelra contributed on Kimmy.

Alter Ego responded in game two with a more controlled performance. Nino ’s SORA helped initiate fights, and Dingarai supplied the damage needed to finish engagements. Nino earned the game’s MVP award with two kills and seven assists as Alter Ego levelled the series.

Second Lord fight changes the series

Game three initially offered ONIC a route back into ControL . They established advantages in gold, structures and kills, but Alter Ego reversed the situation around the second Lord.

Winning the accompanying teamfight allowed Alter Ego to secure the objective and turn the game in their favour. Dingarai finished with five kills and six assists, earning the game’s MVP award as his team moved ahead 2–1.

Alter Ego then carried that momentum into game four. Their early pressure restricted ONIC’s opportunities, and a crucial fight inside ONIC’s jungle helped extend the advantage into a series-clinching victory.

Dingarai earns Player of the Match

Dingarai received the Player of the Match award following Alter Ego ’s three-game response.

ONIC’s defeat was terminal because the opening playoff round used single elimination. Alter Ego advanced into the double-elimination section of the bracket, where NAVI awaited after receiving a first-round bye.
