Vamos eliminate Bigetron to keep MPL Malaysia title hopes alive

Team Vamos defeated Bigetron MY by VIT 3–1 in the MPL Malaysia Season 18 lower-bracket semifinal, recovering from their upper-bracket defeat to secure a place in the tournament’s final three.

Bigetron finished fourth, ending a playoff campaign that began with victory Over Invictus Gaming before consecutive defeats to Selangor Red Giants and Vamos.

Vamos build a two-game advantage

Vamos won the first game in 22 minutes and 24 seconds, then doubled their lead with a 22:09 victory.

Bigetron prevented the sweep by taking Game 3 in 20:38, keeping the series alive and forcing Vamos to attempt another closeout.

Vamos completed the job in Game 4, winning in 22:03 to avoid a deciding fifth game.

Recovery after Team Rey defeat

The result provided an immediate response to Vamos’ 0–3 loss against Team Rey the previous Day . It also continued their success against Bigetron after winning both regular-season meetings.

Vamos advanced to the best-of-seven lower final on 31 October, where they would face the loser of Team Rey versus Selangor Red Giants .

That match would determine the second grand finalist and the remaining MPL Malaysia qualification place for M8. Vamos therefore remained one series away from the world championship despite losing their upper-bracket opportunity.
