Team Rey defeated Team Vamos 3–0 in the MPL Malaysia Season 18 upper-bracket semifinals, moving within one series victory of the grand final and qualification for the M8 World Championship.

The second seeds advanced without dropping a game, sending Vamos into the lower bracket.

Lengthy opener gives way to quicker finishes

The first game lasted 33 minutes and 25 seconds, making it comfortably the longest contest of the series. Team Rey secured the opening advantage before completing the next two victories in 20:21 and 20:22.

The sweep followed Team Rey ’s 2–0 victory Over Vamos in their most recent regular-season meeting on 12 September.

Both teams had finished the regular season with 10–4 series records. Team Rey secured second place through a better game differential, recording 22–11 compared with Vamos’ 22–14.

Grand-final opportunity secured

Team Rey advanced to face the winner of Selangor Red Giants versus Bigetron MY by VIT in the upper final.

Victory there would guarantee a top-two finish and one of Malaysia’s two MPL qualification places for M8. Vamos retained a route to the championship through the lower bracket, where they would face the loser of the other semifinal.
