Gury credits MVK's confidence and SofM 's leadership after FURIA sweep

MVK Esports jungler Lương " Gury " Hải Long believes his team's confidence and preparation played an important role in its 3–0 victory over FURIA at Worlds 2026.

Speaking after the Play-In victory, Gury discussed MVK's expectations against Brazilian opposition, the development of its younger players and the influence of coach and co-owner SofM .

Gury confident heading into FURIA series

Despite predictions favoring FURIA , Gury said MVK had entered the match believing it could win.

He explained that previous positive results against Brazilian teams had given the roster confidence before the series.

That belief translated into a convincing performance, with MVK securing three consecutive game victories.

SofM provides experience and guidance

Gury praised SofM 's contribution to the organization, highlighting his experience as a former professional player.

He explained that SofM had helped the team improve through his knowledge of the game and approach to preparation.

Gury also discussed competing at his second World Championship alongside several teammates who were making their first appearance on the international stage.

Rather than place unnecessary pressure on them, he said he wanted the younger players to enjoy the experience and deliver their best performances.

MVK prepare for Karmine Corp

The victory set up an upper-bracket final against Karmine Corp .

Gury admitted that MVK had initially hoped to face Cloud9 while watching the first Play-In series, but acknowledged that the European representatives would provide a difficult challenge.

He also thanked Vietnamese supporters for staying awake to follow the team's matches and encouraged them to continue supporting MVK throughout the tournament.

The winner of MVK Esports against Karmine Corp will move closer to claiming the final Worlds Swiss-stage berth.
