South Korea sweep Chinese Taipei to retain Asian Games League of Legends gold
South Korea 3:0 Chinese Taipei
South Korea successfully defended their League of Legends gold medal at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games after sweeping Chinese Taipei 3–0 in the grand final at Aichi Sky Expo.
The result gave South Korea a second consecutive Asian Games LoL title following their victory at Hangzhou 2022, which was held in 2023.
South Korea completed the tournament without dropping a game. Their finals lineup featured Choi "Zeus" Woo-je, Kim "Canyon" Geon-bu, Kim "Zeka" Geon-woo, Lee "Gumayusi" Min-hyeong and Ryu "Keria" Min-seok, with Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok not starting the gold-medal series.
South Korea recover from difficult starts
Chinese Taipei created problems during the opening stages of both of the first two games.
South Korea nevertheless recovered in Game 1 through stronger mid-to-late-game execution before overcoming another difficult start in Game 2.
The second game eventually swung through a decisive Elder Dragon fight, allowing South Korea to complete another comeback and move one game away from gold.
South Korea then closed the series in Game 3 to complete the 3–0 sweep.
The victory capped an undefeated Asian Games campaign in which South Korea also swept Saudi Arabia 2–0 in the semifinals.
Chinese Taipei earned the silver medal after reaching the final with a 2–0 semifinal victory over Vietnam .
