Riot reveals League of Legends Patch 26.19 preview ahead of Worlds 2026

Riot reveals League of Legends Patch 26.19 preview ahead of Worlds 2026

Riot Games has revealed the first preview of League of Legends Patch 26.19, the first of two updates leading into the 2026 World Championship.

The patch will focus on adjustments to top lane, stronger melee supports, changes to several straightforward champions, and another round of champion balance changes.

Riot intends to make targeted adjustments without dramatically changing the competitive environment shortly before Worlds.

Melee supports targeted for buffs

One of Riot's main priorities is improving melee supports.

Following roaming changes introduced in Patch 26.16, melee supports became less common in professional play as enchanters and ranged champions gained priority.

Patch 26.19 will increase support health regeneration in an attempt to improve the lane durability of melee champions and give them more opportunities to initiate fights.

Top lane will also receive changes through the role quest system.

Riot believes top laners in higher-level regions currently have less influence over the map than bot lane players.

The update will therefore improve Teleport cooldown benefits tied to the Top Role Quest, particularly rewarding players capable of using Teleport effectively.

Ten champions set for buffs

Elise, Fiora , Volibear, Aatrox, Aphelios, Draven, Kha'Zix, Lillia, and Aurora are among the champions scheduled to receive buffs.

Lucian will also receive changes designed to strengthen his mid-lane performance.

Eight champions are currently listed for nerfs, including Vi, Nocturne, Poppy, Orianna, Rumble, Nasus, Ryze, and bot-lane Lucian.

Riot specifically highlighted Nasus as a champion whose current scaling can allow him to reach important power thresholds too easily in favorable matchups.

Patch 26.19 will be followed by one additional update before Worlds 2026, giving Riot another opportunity to adjust the competitive meta before the tournament begins.
