Official: Caps Inducted into Hall of Legends

Riot Games has officially announced Rasmus "Caps" Winther as the newest member of the Hall of Legends and released the Hall of Legends: Caps trailer. The mid laner from G2 Esports has become the third player inducted into the League of Legends Hall of Legends and the first representative from the Western professional scene. The trophy ceremony will take place on August 18 in Berlin. The in-game Hall of Legends event dedicated to Caps will begin on September 10.

Riot Games released the Hall of Legends: Caps trailer
Along with the official announcement, LoL Esports presented a trailer dedicated to Caps' career. Riot Games described the Dane as a defining Western player of his generation and highlighted his impact on European teams' performances on the international stage. In the official material, Caps is also named the most decorated player in the history of European professional League of Legends. LoL Esports head Chris Greeley noted the mid laner's ability to shine in key matches, as well as his leadership and influence on other players. Caps continues to play for G2 Esports in the 2026 season.

Hall of Legends event starts on September 10
The official Hall of Legends Trophy Ceremony will be held on August 18 in Berlin, where Caps will receive a special trophy. The in-game event will start on September 10 and will include a dedicated pass highlighting the stages of the player's career. Riot Games also confirmed the appearance of themed cosmetic items, although their full list has not been disclosed yet. Additional information about the collection and the event will be released later. The official Hall of Legends website will be updated with information about Caps starting August 24.

Caps becomes the third member of the Hall of Legends
The first member of the Hall of Legends in 2024 was Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok. In 2025, Riot Games inducted Jian "Uzi" Zi-Hao, who became the second participant in the program. Rasmus "Caps" Winther is the third player in the Hall of Legends and the first representative of the Western scene to receive this recognition.

Candidates for the Hall of Legends are selected by an independent committee of 50 representatives from the esports industry worldwide. Initially, regional Riot staff compile a list of about 20 players who have spent at least five years at the tier-1 level. When voting, performances at international tournaments, regional and international titles, position statistics, and overall contribution to the professional League of Legends scene are considered. Players inducted into the Hall of Legends receive an official trophy and a dedicated in-game event. A portion of the revenue from the sale of Hall of Legends passes and bundles goes to the player and their team.

The Hall of Legends has existed since 2024 and is annually expanded with one professional player. After Faker and Uzi, Caps became the third participant in the program, and details of his in-game collection will be revealed by Riot Games later.
