Garen Changes on PBE [PATCH 25.11]

An update has appeared on the League of Legends test server where the developers have reworked several of Garen 's abilities. The changes affect his survivability, damage, and interaction with crits.

Updates to Stats and Abilities

Garen received a slight increase in health—it now increases by 100 per level instead of 98. However, the main focus of the changes is on his abilities.

Courage (W): This ability now reduces damage by 25–41% instead of a fixed 30%. The cooldown has been reduced from 23–15 to 22–12 seconds. However, the passive bonus of 10% additional armor and magic resistance when fully charged has been removed.

Judgment (E): The ability has undergone significant adjustments. Its cooldown now scales with level, from 9 to 6 seconds. The attack damage scaling has been increased to 44% at maximum level. However, crit damage has been reduced (from 150% to 140%), as has the bonus from the "Infinity Edge" item (from 190% to 172%). Damage to monsters has been cut from 150% to 100%, and the damage increase with champion level has been removed. The ability no longer recharges faster with early spin termination.

Demacian Justice (R): The damage has been reduced—now the ultimate deals 150/250/350 damage instead of 150/300/450.

These changes are aimed at reducing Garen 's effectiveness as a straightforward tanky duelist with high damage, focusing on a more balanced gameplay. While the update is on the PBE, the final values may be changed or even canceled before going live on the servers.
