League of Legends Patch 25.07 Preview
Riot Games has unveiled the details of patch 25.07 for League of Legends, featuring changes to champions and in-game items. The developers will buff Brand, Olaf, and other heroes, while Gwen and Naafiri will receive nerfs. Some items, including Catalyst the Protector and Recall Homeguard, have also been reworked. The update aims to enhance balance and gameplay.
Item Changes
Catalyst the Protector will receive a buff, as it significantly lags behind Lost Chapter, which provides a more noticeable power spike. The developers will not reduce the item's price, as it would make it too powerful at the 1100 gold mark, allowing for game prolongation. Instead, its overall effectiveness will be improved.
Umbral Glaive will also be strengthened, as the item has been weak for a long time and was only used by Pyke.
Meanwhile, Recall Homeguard will be nerfed. The combination with Symbiotic Soles proved to be too powerful, especially in the midlane. The developers are satisfied with how it works for supports but want to reduce its impact on the mid lane.
Champion Balance Changes
Recent changes to Gwen have helped her return to the top lane, especially in high-level games. However, even after the micro patch, she remains too strong, so Riot will further nerf her.
Naafiri will also receive a nerf, as she remains strong even after previous adjustments. Her win rate is particularly high in lower ranks, so the developers plan to weaken her early game, especially in the jungle. Despite this, her damage will remain high, but now she will need to put in more effort to achieve it.
