League of Legends Fans Demand Resignation of Riot Games CEO

League of Legends players demand the immediate resignation of Riot Games head Dylan Jadeja, accusing the company of harsh monetization and ignoring community interests. A petition on Change.org has already gathered 21,442 signatures, and the number continues to grow rapidly, confirming widespread fan dissatisfaction.

Players believe that the latest decisions by Riot Games negatively impact the game and the trust in the company. The petition lists key decisions that have sparked severe criticism:

January 22, 2024 – mass layoffs (530 employees, 11% of the workforce), hitting hardest the teams outside the main development process.
June 12, 2024 – introduction of the Immortalized Legend Ahri skin for $500, utilizing FOMO mechanics.
October 15, 2024 – new layoffs (27 people from the LoL team, 5 from the publishing department), a total of 32 employees.
November 2024 – forced integration of the Arcane universe into the main lore, despite fan protests.
November 2024 – lack of free skins during the release of the second season of " Arcane ," with an increased amount of gacha content instead.
December 11, 2024 – launch of the "elite" Exalted Jinx skin for $250.
January 09, 2025 – launch of the "elite" Exalted Sett skin for $250.
January 09, 2025 – Noxus battle pass with underdeveloped skins.
February 07, 2025 – removal of Hextech chests.
February 19, 2025 – removal of honor capsules and spheres.
February 19, 2025 – announcement of the "elite" Exalted Morde skin for $250.

Players are convinced that these changes are solely aimed at maximizing profits, worsening the gaming experience. The petition emphasizes that the community is not against monetization, but the current strategy of Riot Games turns League of Legends into a platform with aggressive profit extraction mechanics, where free rewards disappear and content prices constantly rise.

The petition calls on the company leadership to review its policy and find a balance between monetization and player interests. Riot Games has not officially commented on the situation yet. However, the growing number of signatures and active discussions on social media may force the company to reconsider its position, as has happened in the past.
