After winning 2-0 against BDS in the third round of the Swiss stage at the World Championship, DK's mid-laner ShowMaker gave an interview to Korean media. 

Interviewer: It's been a while since we had a winner's interview.

ShowMaker: Yes, it's been a while.

Interviewer: How are you feeling right now? Can we get your thoughts first?

ShowMaker: Firstly, it seems like we have resolved the urgent issue. Because we didn't have any room for error, today's match was crucial, and I'm glad we won 2-0.

Interviewer: How does it feel to play in the World Championship under difficult circumstances?

ShowMaker: If you keep thinking about negative things, it becomes endless because you keep digging a hole. So, try to find the positive side. If our goal is to win the championship, then playing many games from the bottom and accumulating data will be beneficial. In the end, to win the championship, we will inevitably encounter formidable opponents. "Got hit early? Not just once, but twice? Got hit twice," with this mindset, we played the remaining matches.

Interviewer: Are you grinding experience points?

ShowMaker: Yes.

Interviewer: That can be seen as a high-level strategy. How did you prepare to face BDS and their secret weapon GODS today?

ShowMaker: I played Garen in solo queue yesterday.

Interviewer: Really? But you're a mid laner. Why did you play him?

ShowMaker: Because I was assigned to the top lane for a game, and I really like Garen. So, I was a bit worried today, and I also thought Darius performed well. So, we focused on Garen and Darius for the most part to counter. Actually, for champions like Olaf and Sett, even if they are signature champions, they are just not that good, so we decided to let Canna handle them. But in the fifth pick, Udyr suddenly appeared... We didn't expect that, but Canna did a great job.

Interviewer: There's also Canyon supporting Canna. He seemed impressive today. It looks like he's in great competitive form. What do you think about it, standing by the side?

ShowMaker: Canyon picked a lot of confident champions. Also, when there were hidden moves on the top lane, there was a reason not to use those champions... He handled those weaknesses very well, and Canyon took a lot of advantage from the top lane.

Interviewer: Since you are known for pulling out a variety of champions in critical situations, but lately, you've been playing a lot of Azir. Please evaluate Azir for us.

ShowMaker: Azir... Even though he's been nerfed, I don't really feel it. He's just a versatile pick, "You figure it out" (if you can play him). He has survival skills, laning is not a problem, and he's good in the late game. So, you only play him when you need to figure things out.

Interviewer: Really? What does that mean? Figuring things out...

ShowMaker: Of course, Orianna is getting a lot of praise now, but aren't these champions short-legged? So they always need protection. But I think Azir can solve these issues with his own strength, so I play him often.

Interviewer: We'll look forward to Azir and other champions from you in the future. How did I know you were going to pull out Predator Syndra? The roaming impression was quite strong... Actually, I have to ask this. I interviewed Canyon in the previous interview, and he said, "The matchups and picks that appeared in scrims might not necessarily appear in the actual game." ShowMaker: Actually, during the first week, we felt that those picks had good opportunities during our training, so we brought them out.

Interviewer: What picks are you referring to?

ShowMaker: Varus or Ziggs... I think Varus was fine, but Ziggs had some improvisational elements, so after losing the match, our team, who was originally good at picking champions like in today's match, focused on bottom lane development-type champions for today's preparation, and luckily the game went smoothly.

Interviewer: Deft also mentioned in the stage interview that, "Changing the mindset of lane dominance seemed to help." Do you agree?

ShowMaker: Yes, we talked about playing in that style today, so we were very focused on the lanes.

Interviewer: On the other hand, how has DK grown compared to the previous failures? I'd like to hear about the team's atmosphere and momentum.

ShowMaker: I don't know if it's just me, but it seems like when we had the chance, we were more nervous, but after losing two games, the players had the feeling of "if we lose now, it's over." They have a feeling of burning anger, so they're less nervous than usual, and we'll show a better side in the future.

ShowMaker: I didn't pay much attention to the opponent.
