ESL announces $1 million Munich event for April 2027
ESL FACEIT Group has announced ESL One Munich 2027, bringing 16 Dota 2 teams to Germany from 4–11 April 2027. The final three days, 9–11 April, will take place in front of spectators at BMW Park.
The tournament will offer $1 million in total winnings, comprising $750,000 in prize money and $250,000 in club rewards, alongside 35,460 ESL Pro Tour points.
Eight teams advance from the groups
The competition will begin with two round-robin groups of eight teams, with matches played as two-game series.
The top two teams from each group will enter the playoff upper bracket, while third and fourth place will advance through the lower bracket. The remaining eight participants will be eliminated.
Playoffs will use an eight- TeamToWin double-elimination bracket. Matches will be best-of-three until the best-of- Five grand final.
Invitations and regional qualification
ESL’s event website lists eight places through the EPT leaderboard, with the remaining field completed through regional qualification. Western Europe, Eastern Europe, Southeast Asia, China and South America are among the listed qualifying regions; three further qualifier allocations remain unspecified.
The website identifies 31 January 2027 as the invitation date and also references the DreamLeague Season 31 champion in its invitation criteria. Closed qualifiers are scheduled for 3–7 February.
