Royal Bear recover from opening loss to qualify for DreamLeague Season 30
Royal Bear secured Southeast Asia’s DreamLeague Season 30 berth by defeating Xipto Esports 3–1 in the closed-qualifier grand final.
After losing the opening game, Royal Bear won three consecutive maps to finish the qualifier. Xipto’s run ended in second place after they had earlier defeated InterActive Philippines 2–0 in the lower-bracket final.
Xipto made the stronger start, winning the opener 39–8 in kills in 41:57. Their lineup featured Brewmaster, Mirana , Earthshaker, Winter Wyvern and Nature’s Prophet, while Royal Bear fielded Anti-Mage alongside Dragon Knight and Necrophos.
Royal Bear answered in a considerably closer second game. Their draft included Ember Spirit, Nature’s Prophet, Timbersaw, Dark Willow and Dazzle against Xipto’s Sven and Pangolier lineup. Royal Bear prevailed 38–31 in 51:39, levelling the series after more than 93 minutes of combined in-game time across the opening two maps.
They subsequently took Games 3 and 4 to complete the turnaround and claim qualification.
An unbeaten series run through the qualifier
Royal Bear ’s route included 2–0 victories over Execration and Direborn , followed by another sweep against InterActive Philippines in the upper-bracket final. The grand-final victory therefore completed a qualifier campaign without a series defeat.
DreamLeague Season 30 is scheduled for December 2–13, with 24 teams competing online for a $750,000 prize pool.
