ESIC Temporarily Suspends TaiLung from Dota 2 Tournaments
Santiago "TaiLung" Aguero Gustavo has been temporarily suspended from participating in Dota 2 tournaments during an investigation related to a potential breach of integrity principles. The decision was made by the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC), whose representatives emphasized that this measure does not constitute a final admission of guilt for the player.
During the investigation, TaiLung is prohibited from participating in competitions, acting as a substitute player, coach, or manager, receiving accreditation, or being involved in any other way in tournaments organized by ESIC members.
The commission clarified that the temporary suspension is in place while the case is being reviewed. A final decision will be made after the investigation is completed and the collected materials are evaluated.
Previously, on August 9, PGL suspended TaiLung from The International 2026 and issued him a lifetime ban from their tournaments. LGD Gaming reported that the player is suspected of match-fixing, and his spot on the TI15 roster was taken by Topias "Topson" Taavitsainen.
Later, TaiLung denied the accusations of involvement in match-fixing. The esports player stated that he wants to review the comprehensive evidence against him and is ready to cooperate with the investigation.
