Best Heroes for Each Position in Patch 7.38

Patch 7.38 introduced significant balance changes in Dota 2, impacting hero win rates and popularity. Some characters received buffs and became more in-demand, while others lost their positions. Below are the top heroes in each role that show high effectiveness in the current patch.

Carry:
In patch 7.38, heroes in the carry position show stable results thanks to enhanced aspects. Lifestealer remains one of the most reliable choices, while Medusa and Abaddon have gained additional tools for survival and dealing damage. The top-5 also includes Dawnbreaker and Dragon Knight, who demonstrate high effectiveness in the current meta.

Midlane:
The mid lane in this patch is characterized by a variety of heroes. Visage holds the leading position in win rate, while Dragon Knight and Dazzle remain versatile choices capable of adapting to different strategies. Meepo and Clinkz are also among the best, possessing high mobility and the ability to quickly gain an advantage.

Offlane:
Heroes in the offlane in 7.38 maintain a balance between survivability and the ability to initiate fights. Abaddon and Tidehunter continue to dominate due to their defensive mechanics, while Vengeful Spirit and Wraith King show good performance thanks to their aspects. The list also includes Tidehunter with the Kraken Swell aspect, enhancing his defensive capabilities.

Soft Support:
Fourth-position heroes in this patch have a significant impact on the course of battles. Ancient Apparition leads in win rate among supports, while Elder Titan and Winter Wyvern show stable results thanks to their aspects.

Hard Support:
Fifth-position heroes in this patch demonstrate stable effectiveness. Abaddon holds the leading position, while Zeus and Witch Doctor are also among the most effective supports.

Patch 7.38 was released on February 19 and introduced changes to the map, mechanics, items, and hero balance. The adjustment of aspects affected the meta and hero effectiveness. Further changes may occur in the future. Read more about the patch via the link.
