Team Liquid has announced a new release date for the upcoming Dota 2 patch
According to Samuel “Boxi” Svahn from Team Liquid , Valve will probably release the next Dota 2 patch within the last week of DreamLeague Season 25 focusing on the finals. The esports player believes the patch is likely to come out between February 21-22.
While being interviewed after a match, he had the following to say:
“They tend to release mid-DreamLeague patches that change just about everything. Maybe it will come out before the final days. Personally, I think, there have been way too many consecutive games on this patch. Everything is subject to change. People want balance changes, but in my opinion, the meta always evolves—new heroes emerge, others disappear. To put it simply, it is very challenging to call something OP because nobody uses it after a few weeks. Regardless of new patches, players think out of the box”
He also said that Valve has in the past released patches during Dota 2 tournaments putting order into the realm otherwise filled with disorder. What the pro player is looking for is a major update on the gameplay which would mean high impact changes to the game. He claims that the meta will be the first thing that changes along with the character usage which as a result will change the outcomes of the game drastically.
He also feels that the adjustments on Wisdom Runes need to be made as they seem to created an imbalance in matches. But Boxi has not explained what kind of rebalancing needs to be done.
