Team Liquid directly stated why they refused to sign Resolut1on
Team Liquidleader, William “Blitz” Lee, claimed in an interview that Roman “Resolut1on” Fominok did ask to join the roster but the squad had to say no, as he had been absent from the professional Dota 2 scene for 2 years.
In his explanation which he provided to Dota2.ru, Blitz elaborated further.
"It's a bit strange because I like Roman, we are friends. We are close regardless of the game, but he has just vanished at some point. The guy hasn’t really played anywhere after Team Secret , right? He has been out of the scene for 2 years, and all of a sudden, he comes and he said ‘Pick me up,’ and I am like, what?"
In Blitz’s own words, he did not say that Resolut1on has no chances of making a claim on the team. He simply stated that a player who has been away from the scene for so long is a little risky to recruit. But he explained that the unfortunate part was the timing — Resolut1on did not reach out after The International 2024, but rather reached out to the squads in the middle of the season.
Blitz also claimed that he would have given more consideration to his candidacy if a slot were available. At the same time, he actually encouraged Resolut1on to play more Dota 2 as it will increase the chances of him being recruited.
Not too long ago, Artem "Fng" Barshak pointed out an interesting fact about Anton "Dyrachyo" Shkredov in the realm of professional Dota 2.
