Team Spirit analyst names a hero who could return in the new patch's meta
Mark “sikle” Lerman believes that the weakening of auras in patch 7.37d did not affect the hero Chen , moreover, after the release of the new update, the hero has potentially interesting builds.
Team Spirit analyst shared his opinion in his personal Telegram channel.
“On a serious note, such a niche - at the moment - hero as Chen a little bit got a second wind. Considering that nerf auras do not affect him in any way (they still work, plus there are their own), Solar is not a masthead, you do not do bracer, and arcana is not particularly important (replacing vladik and basil), looks like a potential path to a new build.”
A promising new build on the Chen hero, as discussed by Mark “sikle” Lerman, is based on using the Hellbear Convert aspect and Aghanims Scepter.
“It's about the Hellbear Convert aspect and aghanims. The idea of giving a +60% damage buff (with vladik +78%) every 30 seconds, and a hit on top of that as well, doesn't look so weak, and playing a more active chan overall. In my head the idea works through something like: urn, dramas, vladyk + basil, aganim. Or urn + basil, dramas > aganim. You finish off vessel in any stage. Max W-E and pluses with Q at 2 points, and after a few pluses under rosha, dop Q. Skip talents up to level 20.
Actively spam the creep for damag (700 AoE) when you cannon or in a faight. The rest of the auras (mecha/pipe) are on the triple as usual.”
The new patch 7.37d didn't affect the Chen hero much. The developers only made minor changes to the Holy Persuasion ability. The enhancement from Aghanims Scepter, which unlocks the Martydom ability, activates death effects when a creep dies.
