Virtus.Pro officially announced the disbandment of their Dota 2 team: a new roster has been announced
Virtus.Pro has announced the disbandment of their Dota 2 roster and will unveil a new lineup as early as September. Currently, they are testing new players who will compete in the new roster, and several experimental lineups will also be showcased in the near future.
This statement was made by the team manager, Alexander 'StrangeR' Solomonov, on his Telegram channel.
"The team's performance in Riyadh, unfortunately, confirms that the result in the TI qualifiers was not accidental. Many wonder how the team's level of play dropped so significantly in just 1 month. Is it due to roster changes? More likely no than yes. Sa1y4's replacement became a catalyst for processes but was not the initial cause"
He emphasized that due to a shortage of talent in the Dota 2 pro scene, there will be experiments with the roster. He urged fans to be patient, with the official lineup set to be announced after the global reshuffles following The International 2024.
"Given the team's results, I understand the pain of the fans and fully share it. Clearly, you expect not only words but also concrete actions. Well, the offseason has come earlier than expected for us, and the reshuffle is declared open! We will be conducting tests with various roster variations, some of which may be quite experimental, but the time available allows us to do so.
Our priority is a team that can play confidently and win by this coming fall. Certainly, we plan to participate in the global reshuffle after TI, which promises to be very interesting"
Former Virtus.Pro roster:
