Tier-2 Dota 2 players are demanding salaries in the thousands of dollars, - Castaway
Travis "Castaway" Waters, who played for
Neon Esports , is shocked by the salary demands of tier-2 players from the Asian region.
He said this in an interview with Strafe Esports.
“In Asia, there are folks who want $8,000 to $10,000 a month and they would not even qualify as tier-1 players. I do not mean to be harsh but these guys are so out of touch… ‘I once played on a team that attended a major in 2020; hence now I am asking for such kind of money.’ I just wish more Dota players would recognize reality”
Sometimes these demands make professional players laugh according to him. Castaway believes many of these players aren’t at tier-1 level but still demand high sums. However, he did not mention any specific athletes or teams though it’s likely those teams which are renowned regionally.
Castaway did not clarify whether club management meets such demands when signing contracts.
It is worth noting that in our previous article we analyzed how much esports players earn compared to CS2 and League of Legends.
