Although multiple SA representatives are competing at Elite League S2, there are also formidable opponents hailing from other regions:

6. Shopify Rebellion

Between the sixteen teams, Shopify Rebellion has the potential to secure a top-six finish at Elite League S2.

While Shopify Rebellion has received massive backlash recently for their downhill performance and even failing to qualify for the International 2024 (TI13), courtesy of nouns . They have, however, made drastic roster changes for the better. Removing Artour “Arteezy” Babaev for Crhistian “Pakazs” Savina could just be the X-factor SR needs at Elite League S2. This will be the debut of their new roster without RTZ, so we will give SR the “wild card” status.

beastcoast is one of the better SA squads representing the region at Elite League S2, notably because they qualified for TI13 via the SA regional qualifier. This achievement alone puts them in high regards, considering they beat every other SA rival, including BOOM Esports , Cuyes Esports , FUSION , and Infinity .

4. nouns

nouns are the North American team that ended Shopify Rebellion ’s TI13 hope. nouns has become somewhat of a NA staple these days, coming out on top in most regional encounters. But, frankly, their recent performance at Riyadh Masters 2024 is nothing to boast about. However, considering the lack of prominent powerhouses at Elite League S2 itself, perhaps nouns can shine.

3. Heroic

Heroic isn’t the biggest name the Dota 2 Esports scene, but South American fans will recognize their players homegrown in whichever uniform they play in.

The remnants of TI6 beastcoast players currently playing in Heroic are renowned for being dark horses during their prime. Yet, even after TI6, these SA talents continue to keep the Dark Horse energy alive wherever they go. If you are a fan of SA Dota 2, Heroic is the candidate you want to cheer for because Elite League S2 is the pre-show before their upcoming participation at TI13.

2. OG

It is no surprise that one of the two Western European powerhouses are the top seed in the Elite League S2 power rankings. While OG is a mere husk of its former glory back in TI8-9, the newcomers are doing well to deliver phenomenal Dota 2 action.

Their most recent performance at Riyadh Masters 2024 concluded with them placing ninth place, which isn’t too shabby considering the level of Dota teams they are up against.

1. Team Liquid

Finally, Team Liquid deserves to be at the top of the power rankings for good reasons. They were runner-up at Riyadh Masters 2024, second only to Gaimin Gladiators. They have been consistent throughout the season despite not winning any major tournaments.

That’s because their achievements are often overshadowed by runner-up finishes. Going into Elite League S2 without too much competition to fear, this might just be Team Liquid ’s break to finally secure a championship title.
