Team 500 player has denied using cheats
Team 500 player Blagoi “oxygeN” Dimitrov has officially responded to the accusations of using banned software during CS2 matches. On his Twitter account, he stated that he was ready to cooperate with the tournament organizers (TO) and ESIC to clarify the situation.
Background of the scandal
The accusations against oxygeN and Team 500 began to appear after the matches at CCT Season 2 Europe Series 17, where B8 Artem "kensizor" Kapran posted videos with suspicious moments. In the clips, oxygeN guessed the positions of the opponents with high accuracy, which aroused suspicions among the pro-losers.
This is not the first time 500 has been at the center of a scandal. Previously, the team has been suspected of cheating, and their players have been criticized for strange behavior on camera during matches.
OxygeN's statement
The Bulgarian player emphasized that he completely denies any accusations and is ready to provide all the necessary evidence, including records of official matches and team communications:
“I understand how serious this is, so I want to make it clear: I do not use any illegal programs or exploits in CS2 . I am ready to fully cooperate with TO and ESIC to clarify the situation. I record all official matches along with the team's teasers. Also, I play very close to the monitor, so I have to move my head to look at the radar. If necessary, I can install an additional camera behind me to record the screen - I think TO should consider this.”
The player also spoke about the wave of hate and threats he received after the publication of suspicious clips of his game:
“Over the past two days, I and my family have received threats because of clips from four rounds taken out of context, which ignore the moments when I died or was exchanged. If you analyze the game in this way, you can blame half the scene. I play CS2 at the pro level, have more than 1000 maps, play online tournaments all the time, and recently played on lan . The whole drama unfolded because of one exit on A, which we've been playing for 8 months and where I've made thousands of attempts. It's just a normal gaming moment.”
Scandal around 500 and support from players
Earlier,when kensizor shared a video with suspicious moments in the 500 game at the CCT Season 2 Europe Series 17 and made his statement. He was supported by several pro players, including gla1ve , Snappi , NaToSaphiX , jkaem and mopoz :
gla1ve : “Bro, please tell me this is somehow out of context, because what the hell is this.”
Snappi : "I agree. I hope it gets investigated."
NaToSaphiX : "I've never accused teams of match-fixing or cheating, but this is really weird... 7 identical entries on the same map."
jkaem : "I said something was wrong after playing against him three times in the last 10 days. I would like to hear his explanation."
mopoz : "Valve are doing nothing and TOs are not helping. They need to force players to use a camera with a view of the desktop."
Woro2k and Partizan players were also among the critics who supported the calls for an investigation.
So far, there has been no official statement from the ESIC or tournament operators regarding this investigation. The situation continues to resonate in the esports community.
