"I think device should retire, take a good rest in the offseason, and step away from the game. Astralis spent at least $4 million on this lineup, hoping to earn income from Majors and stickers. But you missed the RMR event directly. Although you have won 4 Major championships, you have ruined your career. If you can't fulfill your responsibilities and can't play at your previous level, don't expect to get the salary you deserve. Retire early and do something that is beneficial to your physical and mental health, such as live streaming, and stop wasting everyone's time and money."

Before the start of the European RMR competition, Astralis player device announced that he would miss the rest of the season due to "recurrence of health problems caused by stress", and  br0  would replace him in the remaining games.

device 's Statement:

“Dear fans and community,

It is with great regret that I inform you that due to a recurrence of stress-related health issues, I will not be able to participate in the 2024 Shanghai Major. This was a difficult decision, but after discussions with my medical team, I knew that focusing on my health was the right choice.

I want to share more details about my relapse. It started with my trip to Singapore. For the first few nights, I had trouble sleeping and could only get a few hours of sleep each night. As the week progressed, my symptoms gradually worsened, including decreased sleep, cramps, heart palpitations, and extreme fatigue. I had hoped that these symptoms would improve when I returned home, but I had to face the reality that I was still not in a good enough shape to compete.

This season has been very hard for me and I didn’t prioritize my health enough. I honestly can’t tell if I feel good or bad after facing a situation like this. I know what the recovery process takes and how good it feels to know I’m healthy. On the other hand, I also know how hard the process is and how much it weighs on me mentally.

What hurts me the most is knowing that I let the team and our fans down in the biggest moment of the season. These people are what motivated me to get back on the court, and it hurts so much to see them let me down.

I look forward to returning at the start of the new season next year. Now is the time to take a break and then plan my return.

Finally, I want to thank my amazing teammates and colleagues at Astralis for their understanding and support. I am very grateful to have br0 on board and I will be supporting everyone from home, and I hope you will support them as well.”
