Q:Can you tell us how you received the invitation for the BB Aunkere Cup Season 2? Why did you decide to participate?
We were on vacation when Aunkere wrote to me, inviting me to participate as the team captain. It so happened that I am currently living in Serbia, and coincidentally during this time I flew to Moscow. I thought, since I'm here, why not participate?
Q: What are your views on the phenomenon of organizing media tournaments for CS new versions?
In my opinion, anything that can interest viewers and participants is exciting, whether it's a CS new version or a Dota 2 tournament. As long as it is well organized, everyone will be interested in it.
Q: How did you form your team?
I was not involved in the formation of the team from the beginning. I can only say that when I was informed about the lineup, I had a conversation with Eugene Karyat | Aunkere . Grigoryan Sergey | des0ut (a player participating in the 2023 BB Aunkere Cup) and Alexey Birukov | OverDrive (a well-known insider) were also on the team, along with Kirill ( Magnojez , a team member of BB) on another list. I noticed that my lineup wasn't very strong, so I suggested some changes. In the end, this team performed very strongly.
Q: How do you usually interact with fans during offline tournaments? Is there anything different about VK Stadium?
There are Russian-speaking viewers here. We also meet our fans at LAN tournaments abroad, but there are many more fans here. They want to take pictures, communicate, and support us. There is more interaction here: when I walk past the audience for an interview, my arms and legs are almost torn off, but of course, in a friendly way. In other words, people here are very enthusiastic.
Q: How do you view the Aunkere Cup? Are you here to win prize money or to have fun and enjoy the atmosphere of offline tournaments?
I participate in tournaments to have fun and to meet people I have never met or had limited contact with before.
Q: Magnojez Mentioned in an interview with us before the BB Villa Cup 2024. He pointed out that there are problems with decision-making in the team, and sometimes you also lack composure. Do you agree with his views?
I haven't seen that interview, so I can't express exactly what was said at the time. He did correctly point out the major issue, which is composure. However, over time, this issue has been improved quite a bit, and in the last match in Abu Dhabi, we made many correct decisions, and overall we performed well.
Q: During the mid-season, there was a change in the team's coach. What adjustments did you make to Artem Gradovich | RAiLWAY in the team's matches?
The team's overall structure has changed. Previously, I was responsible for the whole process, and Innershine ( bb 's former coach) helped me smoothly. Now RAiLWAY is in charge, he explains to me the issues and what needs to be done, and I can give input, but the final decision is up to the coach.
Q: After the RMR failure, you said you wanted to take on less responsibility for the matches. How does that affect the team and your individual performance?
I have always focused on my matches, so this question is a bit untimely. However, at the moment, I have fewer tasks to handle than before.
Q:Magnojez also mentioned that if the team is in its peak form, it can defeat any team in the CS new version. In your opinion, at what stage of development do you think BB is currently at?
Talking about these things is somewhat difficult. Obviously, we focus on the matches in Abu Dhabi, so we will be comfortable there. If we can continue to maintain that level of performance, we will achieve better results.
Q:Based on live streaming and social media, there seems to be a very cheerful atmosphere within the BB team now. How do you evaluate the BB team?
Just like any well-built team, first we are colleagues who work together, and then we are friends. The atmosphere we have now is brought by our current coach and Magnojez, they have put a lot of work into the team in this regard, and they are cool!
Q:What goals has the team set for the second half of 2024?
Our main goal is still to qualify for the Major. The club will make further plans based on our condition after the break.
Q:I would like to ask, what are your thoughts and feelings about leaving your former team Cloud9?
What I want to say is that the disbandment of the lineup at that time was inevitable. I have said more than once that we spent a lot of time in that lineup and lost many matches. Last year, it was a wise move for Cloud9 to replace me and Vyacheslav Leontiev | Buster with Denis Sharipov | electronic and Ilya Zalutskiy | Perfecto. If I were in the management of the team, I would have done the same, but what happens next is not up to me.
Q:Through Gambit Youngsters, you became an outstanding CS player. During your collaboration with Dmitry Sokolov | sh1ro , Sergey Rykhtorov | Ax1Le , Abay Khassenov | HObbit , and Timofey Yakushin | interz , you were promoted to the Gambit main team, and then you wore the C9 jersey, winning many trophies and gaining recognition from everyone. Do you still keep in touch with your old teammates from that lineup?
I can't say I'm in close contact with every one of them, but I maintain a friendly relationship with everyone on the team. I don't discriminate, for example, I have more frequent conversations with sh1ro during matches, and less frequent with Ax1Le. Sometimes I still seek advice from groove (Cloud9 coach), and we also communicate with sasha (Cloud9 manager). But now I am more focused on my current team, so I don't have much time to interact with others.
Q:In your opinion, why hasn't Ax1Le shown his capabilities in the CS new version? Wasn't he the second most important player in your lineup before?
Currently, there are many doubts about Cloud9 in the community. First and foremost, we need to understand that the players on this team have a deep understanding of CS and know how to perform at a high level in tournaments. As for Ax1Le, I believe he is a player with extraordinary talent. He just needs more time, and he will surely get back to his previous level of performance, I have no doubt about that. Ax1Le is an exceptionally skilled rifler, and I think his condition will significantly improve next season. Although it is difficult for me to determine the reasons for his recent decline in performance, Ax1Le is clearly an intelligent individual who can solve any problem on his own. To those fans who question why Ax1Le's performance has declined, I would say: give him some more time, and he will prove himself once again.
Q:In the past year, there has been a sudden change in your public image, where you have become more expressive in public and during matches. Why is that?
I haven't changed my image in any way. Sometimes I just care about what is written in the media. I haven't become aggressive, I can confidently say that the media's description of me is not the real me. I just write and say what I think. I am who I am, and I haven't deliberately done anything special.
Q:Commanders of top teams typically don't have high stats. As a leader, do you feel anxious about your low stats on HLTV? Does this affect your leadership in the team?
First and foremost, Impact rating is evaluated regardless of whether you are a captain or a star player. Rating comes second, although everyone wants good stats regardless of the role they play. In this regard, I am no exception. Speaking of HLTV's rating, my performance last season was not good. I understand that I need to improve in this aspect in order to perform better in the future.
Q:You have mentioned more than once that you dislike failure and want to reach higher heights in your career. How do you currently evaluate your growth in esports?
If we look at the overall picture, my career has been quite successful. However, if we are talking about ambitions, I can say that the achievements I have obtained so far are not enough for me. I want to achieve more good results. I believe that with BB's current lineup, there is still a chance to win championships, and we will do our best.
Q:In your opinion, what achievements would mark a successful and stable professional career in the CS new version and CS:GO?
When I was with Cloud9, coach Konstantin Pikiner | groove would instill a thought into each player: to create an "era". Unfortunately, we couldn't achieve that in Gambit, but his idea still exists, and I hope my team can reach such heights where everyone looks up to us, and we can exist as the best team for a long time. That is my main goal. If we talk about championship titles, I can confidently say that no one can name the winners of the first Major. But teams that create an "era" will always be remembered.
Q:In your opinion, which CS pro player currently has a successful and stable career? What is your reason for choosing them?
We can identify players who have already created an "era". In this regard, I think the Astralis five and their coach and manager have had successful and mature careers.
