KSCERATO: "My parents prefer me playing CS at home to avoid getting into trouble outside."
Kaike Cerato | KSCERATO gave an extensive interview to an international media outlet.
Q: This season, FURIA has been training in Serbia. Is it tough being away from home?
A: Yes, but we've gotten used to it after nearly six years of traveling worldwide. Playing CS is our dream, sometimes you have to make sacrifices for it.
Q: Do you often discuss football within the FURIA team?
A: Absolutely. Yuri Santos | yuurih and I are Corinthians fans, while some support Palmeiras. Corinthians haven't been doing well lately, and Palmeiras has won back-to-back titles. But that doesn't stop us from discussing and fighting every derby!
Q: Neymar is a fan of FURIA, how does it feel to have a football superstar idolize you?
A: He's my idol, so it's a bit weird to say I'm his. It's fantastic having Neymar support us; he's Neymar!
And Neymar plays CS really well too. Considering his dedication to football, that's remarkable.
Q: Does he have semi-pro skills?
A: Perhaps not enough for pro play, but he would certainly make pro players sweat. He'd probably fit in a Tier 3 team. If he genuinely aimed for CS, he'd have a shot at a Tier 2 team.
Q: You're a Corinthians fan, but Neymar played for Santos...
A: The first time I met Neymar, I told him I used to passionately curse him during games because he often ruined Corinthians. But I also watched his games at Santos, it was truly an art. Back then, I wasn't into CS; I was all about football.
Q: It's hard for Eastern European parents to accept esports; what about in Brazil?
A: My parents always said it's better to play CS at home than get into trouble outside. Their sole goal for me was education; I attended electrical engineering training. Even knowing I'd pursue CS, I didn't halt my studies.
Q: You have a Tesla tattoo on your arm, is it a tribute to your learning experience?
A: Yes, I learned a lot about Tesla. Because of him, we have CS and computers; he's the greatest inventor.
Q: In the documentary, you mentioned your parents sacrificed a lot for you and your brother. Can you elaborate?
A: It's tough for people to leave their environment. But my parents made an effort to provide us with the best conditions—computers, equipment, and high-speed internet. Back then, it was dial-up; whenever someone called, the internet disconnected.
They missed many crucial meetings to bring my brother and me home to play CS. I hope I can support my kids in the same way in the future.
Q: Is being teammates with FalleN a dream come true?
A: Absolutely, I was his CS 1.6's first-level student; he taught me a lot. Now we're teammates, it's unbelievable.
Q: FURIA tried to change its style a few months ago but failed. Where did the problem lie?
A: Primarily with me and yuurih. We were used to arT's aggressiveness and couldn't find our rhythm in slower matches. Now with FalleN and arT, we can switch our style in different rounds, understanding fast and slow tactics better, finding our groove.
Q: The aggressive style has more benefits in the new CS version. Is FURIA destined for success?
A: The game updates frequently, but FURIA can benefit from it at the moment. With hard training, FURIA can become the top team. We have enough time to prepare for the Major.
Q: What do you like most about CS?
A: The thrill of killing opponents is amazing. Also, in CS, anything is possible; you must make the right decisions at all times.
