CS2 update introduces silent reloads and new 3v3 Rush mode
Valve has released a significant Counter-Strike 2 update introducing silent reloads, a new 3v3 game mode, changes to Premier map selection, and a broad crosshair overhaul.
Players can now perform a silent reload by holding the reload key, trading sound for a longer reload time.
Unscoping with a sniper rifle also no longer produces an audible sound.
New Rush mode added
Valve has introduced Rush, a queued 3v3 mode built around a series of randomly selected battle arenas.
Teams must eliminate their opponents or survive until time expires before taking control of a tower and progressing toward the opposing castle.
The randomly selected arenas are intended to make each match play differently.
Premier veto system changed
Premier now uses a new map selection process.
Team 1 selects one map, Team 2 chooses two additional maps, and Team 1 selects a fourth.
One of those four maps is then randomly selected for the match.
Clan tags return
Clan tags have returned for players who belong to Steam Community Groups.
Valve has also overhauled the crosshair system, introducing resolution-independent crosshairs, additional styles, a dedicated Crosshair/Scopes settings tab, and a new Dynamic Quad default crosshair.
Bullet impact decals and blood have received visual clarity improvements.
Ancient , Cache, Mirage, and Train received map fixes, while C4 can now carry stickers.
And, critically, chickens can now take damage from the Zeus x27.
