FUT close in on signing SunPayus from G2
FUT are close to signing Álvaro " SunPayus " García from G2, with the Spanish AWPer expected to replace Nikita " cmtry " Samolotov on the active roster.
According to HLTV, the deal is nearing completion and would bring SunPayus back into competition after approximately three months on the sidelines.
The 27-year-old has been inactive since June, when G2 moved him to the bench and later replaced him with Artem "r1nkle" Moroz.
FUT considered multiple AWP options
FUT also explored several alternative options before moving toward SunPayus .
Henrich " sl3nd " Hevesi reportedly trialed with the team, while Alan " Flayy " Krupa was also considered for the position.
cmtry joined FUT as part of the former NaVi Junior core but has struggled for consistency during 2026.
The 18-year-old earned his first MVP award after helping FUT win PGL Bucharest in April with a 1.24 tournament rating, but has posted a 1.00 rating on lan across the year.
SunPayus would become FUT's second signing since the Turkish organization entered Counter-Strike, following the addition of Yasin " xfl0ud " Koç in July.
If the move is completed, SunPayus is expected to debut for FUT at PGL Masters Bucharest, scheduled for October 24–31.
