Esports World Cup reveals 2027 and 2028 CS2 dates

The Esports World Cup has revealed the dates for its Counter-Strike 2 competitions in 2027 and 2028.

The 2027 edition will run from July 20 to August 1 in Riyadh and will retain the expanded format used in 2026.

The main tournament will once again feature 32 teams competing for a $2 million prize pool.

Open qualifier remains part of format

The large-scale Riyadh Open Qualifier will also return.

It is scheduled for July 16-18 at Esports Boulevard and will award four spots at the main event.

The 32-team field will be built through 20 Global VRS invitations, two North American invitations, two South American invitations, two Asian invitations, two Wildcard spots, and four teams from the open qualifier.

The organizers also confirmed that the 2028 Esports World Cup will continue the Counter-Strike competition, with more details expected closer to the event.
