M80 sweep Luminosity to win Roman Imperium Cup VIII

M80 claimed the Roman Imperium Cup VIII title after defeating Luminosity 2:0 in the Grand Final in Portugal .

The victory gave M80 their third trophy of the year and also delivered a significant boost in the Valve Regional Standings.

M80 won both Dust2 and Cache 13:10 to complete the sweep.

M80 avenge earlier defeat

The result also served as revenge for M80 after Luminosity had defeated them 2:1 earlier in the double-elimination bracket.

M80 began the tournament with victories over 6666 and Iberian Soul before falling to Luminosity.

They recovered by defeating Iberian Soul again in the lower bracket to earn a rematch in the Grand Final.

This time, M80 closed the series without dropping a map.

The championship earned the team the $6,968 first-place prize and produced a 17-place rise in the VRS.
