ruggah retires from coaching after more than a decade in Counter-Strike

Casper "ruggah" Due has announced his retirement from coaching, bringing an end to a career that lasted more than ten years across several of Counter-Strike's most recognizable organizations.

The 38-year-old most recently coached Astralis before leaving the team earlier this year.

More than a decade behind the team

ruggah began building his reputation as a coach with Dignitas , where he helped the organization win EPICENTER.

He later worked with North , OpTic, OG and Astralis , remaining a fixture in top-level Counter-Strike through several different eras of the game.

His most recent stint came with Astralis .

The Danish organization released ruggah following a disappointing result at the IEM Cologne Major and replaced him with Filip "NEO" Kubski.

ruggah did not join another organization during the summer.

Move into broadcast work

Instead, he appeared on the analyst desk at BLAST Open Porto.

His retirement announcement came one day after the tournament concluded.

The decision closes a coaching career that included long spells at the top of European Counter-Strike and involvement with several prominent international rosters.

For now, ruggah has not announced whether he plans to remain involved in Counter-Strike through broadcasting or another role.
