NAVI, FURIA Esports , Spirit , and aurora Advance to the EWC 2026 Playoffs

The penultimate day of the Esports World Cup 2026 group stage determined four more teams that qualified for the playoffs. NAVI, FURIA Esports , aurora , and Spirit advanced following victories in their respective matches.

NAVI and FURIA Esports

The key Group D matches featured NAVI against The MongolZ and FURIA Esports against 9z , with the first two playoff spots from the group on the line. NAVI defeated its opponent 2:1, while FURIA Esports beat 9z by the same scoreline in the simultaneous match. 

Spirit and aurora

The decisive Group A matches were also played, with Spirit facing BIG and aurora taking on JiJieHao . Spirit and aurora completed the list of Group A playoff participants, while BIG and JiJieHao joined Wildcard and 3DMAX among the teams eliminated from the tournament on August 15.

The Counter-Strike 2 tournament at Esports World Cup 2026 runs from August 12 to 23. Thirty-two teams are competing for a total prize pool of $2 million.
